The Gallery started out its life in 1982 when Lorenzo’s Dad Toni Colangelo, set up a small salon called Barnet Fair at 65 London Road, Southborough.

In 1990 Lorenzo returned home having completed his hairdressing training and decided to set up his own salon in a room on the first floor of Barnet Fair! From that one room, he offered clients a personalised service, a one hour appointment and the attention to detail that they seemed to love! Five years later Toni decided to slow down a little, so Lorenzo took over the ground floor salon and renamed it ‘The Gallery’

In 2000 we expanded, taking up 63-65 London Road.

Having refurbished and updated the salon every 5 years since, The Gallery had its most recent and most significant expansion in 2019/20. It saw us take over the entire site creating the luxury backwash area whilst increasing our seating capacity to 21 styling stations and a 20-strong team.

The salon has been recognised with multiple awards, for Salon Of The Year (2014, 2015 and 2016) and we are now in the National Hairdressing Business Awards Hall of Fame, along with being Grand Finalists in The L’Oreal Colour Trophy in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.

The Gallery has become one of the UK’s leading salons, where clients expect nothing but the very best in hairdressing. We are an award-winning, modern lifestyle salon and we are very proud of our relaxing yet creative atmosphere.
